Cowshed line-up and final acts announced
The Cowshed is one of our festival-goers’ favourite fixtures at Standon Calling, but this will be the first year it features bands before transforming into an on-site nightclub until the early hours.
White Heat curate The Cowshed on Saturday, bringing art art rockers Breton, funk-punkers CITIZENS!, psychedelic indie five-piece TOY and a live set from Figures, before Playlister and White Heat DJs take over party proceedings. Friday night sees The Cowshed flexing its rock credentials with Kerrang! best newcomer nominee Hawk Eyes supporting psych-rockers Turbowolf, before a party vibe imbues the venue with DJ sets from nineties icon and Hertfordshire hero Normski, veteran party kicker Luke Unabombers, Two Bad Mice and Standon stalwarts Tim Fanucci and Cantmixwontmixshouldntmix.
Sunday lets you take to the stage with the infamous Rockaoke. Then there’s live music from the likes of Lovepark, Bibelots, Crybaby and the Dutch Flowers Band before the stage embarks on a final psychedelic journey with live conceptual disco duo Den Haan, headliner Richard Norris’s Time & Space Machine, Cosmo (Cosmodelica), dance legend Greg Wilson and Standon’s very own patron saint Kid Fiesta.
New acts set to rub Main Stage shoulders with headliners Beardyman, Death in Vegas and Fat Freddy’s Drop include Mary Epworth & The Jubilee Band, The Thirst, Z-Star, Fractures, Silvermoths, the Lips Choir and Road To Standon winners Folie Ordinaire.
Curating the Folk Stage are Two For Joy and Owlsworld. Highlights include the sensational Willy Mason, country rock outfit The Barker Band, brilliant banjo music from This Is The Kit, emerging folk man Brendan Rogers, barn-storming Ceilidh hoe down collective Cut A Shine, Beans on Toast and singer-songwriter Jenny O. The rest of the folk stage line-up includes Downtown Wolves, Standon veterans The Fabulous Penetrators, Jonny Kearney and Lucy Farrel, The Folk, Suburban Dirts, Annie Dale, Keltrix, Delirium Tremens, The Ramshackle Union Band, Urusen, Tiffany & The Curls, Monster Ceilidh Band, Scarlet & The Wilderness, Beatrix Players, Vardo & The Boss, Interiors and Evi Vine.
Other new acts completing the line-up include Graveltones, Maddox, Trenton & Free Radical, Foxes and The Tricks .
