Fat Freddy’s Drop promise full, 90-min headline set

When Fat Freddy’s Drop set up on stage they tend to want to stay there for a while. Their headline set on Sunday night at Standon Calling will be no exception. They’ve promised us at least 90 minutes of their full-on dub-funk-reggae. What’s more they’re really looking forward to it.

“Fat Freddy’s Drop have heard a plethora of recommendations for Standon Calling and now we get to go along and get amongst it ourselves!” explains the band’s trumpet maestro, Tony Chang. ” The theme suits us to a tee. Don’t tell any of our friends in New Zealand, they’ll be rather jealous indeed.”

Earlier on in the weekend, both Death in Vegas and Beardyman should provide similar headline spectacles. Beardyman in particular is planning something special.

“I’m excited to be headlining Standon Calling,” he says. “I’ve got a whole new show i’m bringing there, a bespoke live production system designed from the ground up with the soul intention of destroying large numbers of peoples minds.”
