Tropical Pre-Party

Summer is just around the corner, but it can’t come fast enough as far as we’re concerned, so we’ve teamed up with East London promoters Twisted Licks and put together a tropical pre-party to give you a taste of what’s in store at Standon Calling 2010. Heading up the bill are the Filthy Dukes, whose infamous ‘Kill ‘Em All’ parties have featured some of the biggest names in dance music including Justice, Erol Alkan, The Chemical Brothers and Crystal Castles.

On the live side, we’ve gone straight for the jugular with two of our current favourite red-hot buzz bands. First up is Scottish epic electro-rock outfit North Atlantic Oscillation (“a journey into the sublime” 8/10 NME). They’re followed by sublime soundscapes courtesy of the ever-chameleonic Clock Opera, who are currently making waves with their fantastic remix of The Phenomenal Handclap Band, which you can download for free here. We’re still to announce the third act, so watch this space…
