A huge thank you to everybody who completed our feedback survey. The response was overwhelming. So many of you have told us that the most-special thing about Standon Calling is the general vibe of the festival and that is something we will keep intact. Alongside this we are always looking to improve. We have listened carefully to all of your feedback and are planning to address three key issues in 2015 in particular:
1. Alcohol Allowance
We are increasing the alcohol allowance for 2015 to allow you to bring in either 12 cans beer/lager/cider or 75cl of spirits in a plastic container or 1 box of wine per person. As an independent festival focused on putting on the best possible line-up, we rely on the bars to help us fund the bands we book, but we will be looking to price drinks as reasonably as possible in 2015.
2. Water Supply
Unfortunately, during the festival, our bore hole compression tank broke, which disrupted water provision. This initially affected family camping and subsequently some other areas of the site. We sincerely apologise if this affected you. For 2015. the water system will receive a full overhaul and redesign so that a similar situation does not occur again.
3. Card Machines
Due to issues with mobile connectivity, the debit and credit card facilities at the top-up station were not fully functioning. Over the past five years we have never had a problem with the mobile card machines, and we did not expect to suddenly find tthe festival in a mobile black spot. Unfortunately, the knock-on effect of this was that everyone had to use the on-site ATM machines and pay the charge to the providers. We apologise if this affected you. In 2015 we will be investing in better technology to ensure this doesn’t happen again and are currently looking at whether to use a satellite or a fibre optic solution.
If you have any more comments or views on how we can further improve the festival next year, please don’t hesitate to email them over to info@standon-calling.com. We want to make the experience even better for you, every year.
Look forward to seeing you in 2015!
