Both members of BIGKids have played Standon Calling before, albeit in different guises, and they say they can’t wait to return.
“We can not fricking wait for ‘Standon calling’ this year. If it is anywhere near as good as it was last year, we probably won’t make it out of there alive,” says Rose Oddie who sang with Bones when they played last year’s festival.
The other half of BIGKids is Ben Hudson, who’s collaborated with Kanye West and Jay-Z, and formerly fronted Mr Hudson and the Library, who performed at Standon Calling in 2008.
“‘Standon Calling’ is totally BIGKids friendly - throw in a couple more ball pits and I don’t think we would ever leave,” says Ben.
BIGKids is something of a departure from the pair’s previous projects. Bright and brash, The Guardian says BIGKids make the “Ting Tings sound like Neil Young’s On the Beach”, while Stella McCartney chose their track ‘Drum in Your Chest’ as Adidas’s official Team GB anthem.
